All,

You will begin to see in this forum documents posted for the purposes of those people, cities or crews interested in hosting a PSi event.

I will attempt to post them in the order in which they should be navigated, and add instructional information as we go.  PSi wants anyone who is capable of running these events to have the opportunity to be considered, and we certainly want anyone interested to be aware of the process.  If you've got the venues, the audience and the crew, we WANT to consider you.

Please find attached the simplest sheet we have: the Events Requirement Sheet.  It basically lists the infrastructure requirements we need to run the tournament, primarily venues.  If you have these items in reasonable distance to an acceptable hotel and to each other, you may very well be a contender for running a PSi event.

This is step 1: Do you have the things we need to even consider your city?  This document gives you the broadest stroke possible to determine that.

If you feel you pass this test then you should get in contact with me, any EC representative or our Executive Director Steve Marsh and see what events are available for bids, and in what years.  We try to award bids to cities with a two year lead time when possible, so it is possible that even if we haven't announced a city for a particular year we are considering one or more already.

Also: hosts for NPS and iWPS go before a SlamMaster vote (when the window for bids hasn’t passed or no acceptable cities are found in that window).  Hosts for all WOWps events are picked by the EC only.

Also: Anyone can bid on an event.  It need not be a SlamMaster or even a member of PSi...but it would sure help your case.

More info and process to come!

Thank you family,
Scott Woods

President, PSi

Step 2: Bid Vetting Form

Attached is the official vetting form the EC uses to gauge a cities interest and ability to host a PSi event.

If you are an interested party, download the form, fill it out and email it to: sewoods1@yahoo.com
You will be contacted upon receipt of your form and processed from there directly by a PSi representative for the event in question.

One bid form per event please (no "I can do them all!" applicants please).

PSi utilizes the following calendar when processing bids.
If you are interested in bidding on an event, you need to observe these deadlines.

SlamMasters meetings are to vote on bids already processed and presented by the EC.
If bids are not presented to the EC by the deadlines shown in the outline below (Section 2) the EC then becomes charged with finding a host for those unclaimed events.  Our process (Section 2) includes dates for interest to be presented, dates for processing by EC, and dates when we will release choices and bid info to the SMs online.

Votes for NPS occur:
NPS 2012 - SM Meeting March 2010
NPS 2013 - SM Meeting March 2011
NPS 2014 - SM Meeting March 2012
NPS 2015 - SM Meeting March 2013
NPS 2016 - SM Meeting March 2014
NPS 2017 - SM Meeting March 2015

Votes for iWPS occur:
iWPS 2012 - SM Meeting August 2010
iWPS 2013 - SM Meeting August 2011
iWPS 2014 - SM Meeting August 2012
iWPS 2015 - SM Meeting August 2013

All,

The vetting form has been updated with language inquiring about side event diversity from potential hosts.
The updated document is in the same post above.

Host City bid master is updated with instructions to send completed material to the Executive Director, Karrie Waarala.
If you are considering putting in a bid for one of PSi's events, please feel free to use the same email address to ask questions, make inquiries about open dates, or to get help from PSi in explaining and filling in the information requested on this form.
Psi's experience in running these events grows and develops every year.  As a host city, you will have a good deal of support from people who have been down this road before, some of them, many times.
     Thanks for considering to host!
