WOWps 2009 Winner
« on: March 21, 2009, 10:29:44 PM »
Can I first say how much I loved that we had finals live blogged?  Right on the front page of the WOWps website?!
This is the kind of cool, instant gratification we've been looking for!  Thanks to Louise Robertson for putting in the work!

Congrats to Rachel McKibbens our 2009 winner!

All the poets on the stage were amazing and inspiring.  I am so glad I was here to see them all.  I've picked up a new collection of heroes.

Rachel was already one of them, and she was wonderful as always.

I'm just waiting for the livejournal commentary to kick in. I want to read about people's impressions of the festival!

Also looking forward to hearing about the SM meeting.

Rachel McKibbens rocked!  It was so exciting to meet her and see her perform live and upclose!  The fact that there were a number of outstanding women hitting the stages of Detroit, with a number of men from around the nation supporting them, was incredible in itself.  This was definitely an experience to take with me and I am already extremely excited about next year!

I adore your bashfulness, Rachel.  Its not only adorable ... its humble.  And beautiful.  As you were.  As you are.  Congratulations and thank you.
