photos from IWPS 2007
« on: April 09, 2007, 09:33:32 AM »
Hello, folks:

As some of you may recall, my dad (Rich Beaubien) was at the Individual World Poetry Slam this year, celebrating his birthday and taking photos of many of you. He had a fantastic time and asked me to send his love to all of you.

Lots of folks have asked where the photos he took can be viewed. So far, he's only got a small batch up, just from the draw, but he hopes to add the photos from prelis and finals over the next a couple of weeks. Here's the link to his site:

Folks interested in prints or high-res copies for press purposes can contact me and I'll put you in touch with Dad.

Remind me to suck in the gut when your dad is around.

These photos are great, I can't wait to see the rest of them.

Tell your Dad I said hello, and thanks.

YOUR gut? I asked him to find a way to trim 40 pounds off me!

They look great. Please tell him we enjoyed meeting him and having this archive is very cool too.

Artistically done on the Anarchist Slam Photo.  Correct, not much else you can say....well there is but I'll leave it to the imaginations of those who weren't there and the reality of those who were.

Welcome, Rich. Glad to have you in here. Are you coming to Austin? (Yes, I'd be happy to see you again, and, um, of course, your camera too....)

Seriously, welcome.

Quite the welcome!  ;D

I should be getting some of the IWPS Women's Showcase up in the next day or so. I also posted a some photos of the spectacular  Marc Smith Show in Cambridge that just happened last week.

Also with the gut. But beautiful, beautiful work! Thank you!

Next time: the reverse fish-eye lens to make us all half our width.

Regarding those Marc Smith pics:  They're fabulous!  And unlike these other mugs, I take full responsibility for my gut.

Do you think Regie would miss a fellow Chicago poet when he came to town?

Seriously, that show was like an effin' Springsteen concert. At the end of it, we had Marc Smith, the JR3, Tony Brown, Faro, Michael Brown, Adam Stone, Richard Cambridge, Iyeoka Okoawo and Regie all up on the stage improving some crazy fun.

All recorded, I might add. I can't wait to use that venue again.

I think the Marc Smith Show may be one of those legendary events where 5000 people will claim that they were there (the hall holds about 300).   ;D

The IWPS Women's Showcase photos are now posted folks. Enjoy.

I'm already thin enough, thankyouverymuch.

These are mad sexy. Thanks duder.
